(Please note that we are starting earlier at 11:00 a.m. for the Resource Fair.) Are you aware that 73% of employees are juggling a second part-time job — as family caregivers? AARP reports that 61% of U.S. family caregivers are employed, while also spending an average of over 20 unpaid hours per week in caregiving activities equivalent to a part-time job. $17.5 billion is how much is lost every month when working caregivers don't get the support they need. While many employers are very supportive of parental caregiving for children under 18, caregiving for adult family members (including assistance with daily living activities, medical or nursing tasks, coordinating services and supports, transportation, shopping, and serving as an advocate for their care recipient) is often unrecognized and unsupported.
This panel and resource fair will give you:
- Deep Insights into the caregiving journey and its hidden impact on productivity, engagement, and retention
- Ready-to-Use Initiatives—many at no cost—that you can roll out immediately to support caregivers on your team
- Community Resource Packet featuring local support services, tools, and programs to share with employees
